My last Winter walk here was February last year. However this time Dawn and I had an extra hound with us, which was fun.
With freezing conditions over the past week or so, I had it in my head that the ground would be pretty firm. How wrong was I. Instead of frosted paths it was mud, mud, glorious mud as the temperature rose a few degrees during the day.
Our walk, 2.75 miles and 1hrs 30mins.
A mixture of woodland, farmland, marshes and pools.
Despite the muddy conditions, it was a pretty good walk in the end, with a few more birds to add to my 2024 list.
They were:
Great White Egret - One flying over Lodmoor RSPB Reserve
