A male Pied Wagtail on the beach

Just a male Stonechat on the beach. There was no sign of the female from a few days ago.

And another male Stonechat and his.............

This female/juvenile Black Redstart was giving me a right stare.

It then posed for me.

There have been up to four Chiffchaffs in the bushes surround the cove.

However today there was just the one bird.............

Plants:
Mahonia sp.
Russian Comfrey (Symphytum x Uplandicum)
Japanese Spindle Tree (Euonymus japonicus)

This Mahonia is really late in flowering this Winter. In previous years it has flowered around the 17 Dec 21, however there was also a late flowering on this day in 2022. There are around 70 species of Mahonia, so you can take your pick as to which one this is. More on this plant Here.

Russian Comfrey just starting to appear in Penns Wood.
