Bumpers Lane, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Broadcroft Quarry Pools, Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve, Upper Horse Paddock and Lower Horse Paddock

It was another late afternoon walk and its proving to be quite productive with Autumn migrants passing through. Today I recorded House Martin, Swallow, Meadow Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, Blackcap and Chiffchaff.

Other birds of interest were a Great Spotted Woodpecker in Broadcroft Quarry Lane and a fly-by Rook heading south of the lower horse paddock.

There were no Rush Veneers seen today and the only moth I came across was a Common Nettle-tap.

This Common Dronefly was the only hoverfly I came across on my walk.

Ted
:

There is a reason why Ted is standing on this rock. It was a good height to extract burdock seed heads and other seeds attached to him. At least it wasn't as bad as yesterday. And yes I did help him down!!
