Lodmoor RSPB Reserve

It wasn't my intention to visit Lodmoor today, but something came up, which meant I had to be in the Weymouth area for a few hours. In fact it was longer than that, and I ended up walking around the reserve for a good 3 hours.

But what a walk it was, especially when I stopped to talk to another dog walker, and an Osprey, with a fish in its talons, flew over our heads and disappeared towards the Park & Ride at the northern end of the reserve.

Well there I was thinking I wouldn't be able to top that, when I came across some birders looking at a Blue-headed Wagtail feeding alongside Yellow Wagtails in amongst the cattle. My first for the UK, so I was pretty chuffed with that.

However this was to be bettered (surely not), when I was told that a bit further along the reserve there was an Eastern Yellow Wagtail. However it transpired that it was an unusual looking Citrine Wagtail and a first one for me in the UK.
