Portland Harbour

Not a day for walking, especially for Ted as it was pretty hot again. So Ted stayed at home in the cool, whilst I took the Kayak out into Portland Harbour for a bit of fishing.

Sadly no fish caught but I saw plenty, but it was just great to get back on the water for a paddle around the Mulberry's and Portland Marina.

Just a few birds seen and heard, plus a few butterflies taking a shortcut across the harbour.

Birds Recorded:
4 Cormorant
1 Oystercatcher (heard)
Herring Gull
Great Black-backed Gull
2 Swift
Carrion Crow

Butterflies Recorded:
2 Large White
1 Marbled White

General Shots:

The Mulberry's on the left and Castletown below The Verne. More on the Mulberry's Here.

Gin clear water

It's probably why I didn't catch anything. If I can see them they can see me. A bit more stealth required next time.

Ships Today:

A big disappointment was not being able to find out anything on this high speed sailing ship. It's at a standstill now, but seconds earlier it was powering across Portland Harbour.
