Wakeham

Another day spent at home, but mostly in the back garden. Main highlights were a pair of Linnets which were determined to land on the feeders, but aborted several times, as passers-by scared them off.

Unlike the Linnets, the regular Goldfinches, House Sparrows and Blue Tits were pretty happy about the locals walking past the house, plus me pottering around in the garden.

Birds Recorded:
Herring Gull
Wood Pigeon
Collared Dove
Dunnock
Great Tit
Blue Tit
Magpie
Carrion Crow
Jackdaw
Starling
House Sparrow
Chaffinch
2 Linnet
5 Goldfinch

I have noticed that quite a few birds in the garden are very tolerant of me, especially this Dunnock.

Not so much for this Blue Tit or.........

...........Linnet. However the.............

...........Goldfinches dont seem to mind me at all.

Some even come camouflaged. I should imagine this is nesting material which has "attached" itself to its head. I'm sure it will find its way into the nest eventually.

Good to see a variety of birds on the feeders. Goldfinches, House Sparrows and a Blue Tit

Buff-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris)

The Cherry Tree was buzzing today with lots of Honey Bees
