Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Church Ope Cove Wood, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and The Museum

A day, not to dissimilar to yesterday, with wall to wall blue skies and plenty of sunshine. The only difference was that the north-westerly we had yesterday has now veered around to the south-east, making it feel pretty chilly at the cove.

Main highlights today were two Chiffchaffs and a presumed pair of Rock Pipits at the cove.

No "white" butterflies seen, but instead I came across a Comma and two Peacocks.

Still plenty of bees, waspshoverflies and flies about, with a few Celery Flies seen for the first time this year.

...........pretending to be a Kestrel. As she flew over Penn's Weare, she managed to hold herself in mid-air and appeared to be hovering.

After a few seconds she was off up the island.
