Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, Wakeham Railway Cuttings, Mermaid Track, The Cuttings Quarry, Bumpers Lane, Broadcroft Quarry Lane and Lower Horse Paddock

It was a quick walk around the block today, as I had my booster jab in Weymouth in the afternoon.

Main highlights were 10 Meadow Pipits flying over Broadcroft Quarry Lane, where there were good numbers of Chaffinch and Goldfinch again, including 1 Greenfinch.

Mammals Recorded:
1 Bunny

Just the one Bunny seen today.

Birds Recorded:
1 Kestrel
Herring Gull
1 Stock Dove
Wood Pigeon
Collared Dove
10 Meadow Pipit
1 Pied Wagtail
Dunnock
Robin
Blackbird
1 Song Thrush
Long-tailed Tit
Great Tit
Blue Tit
Wren
Magpie
Carrion Crow
Jackdaw
50+ Starling
House Sparrow
Chaffinch
Goldfinch
1 Greenfinch

Where there's muck there are flies and Pied Wagtails.

These Starling have found some grain thrown into the Lower Horse Paddock. In the hedge behind are a few House Sparrows, waiting to join in with the feast.

And if they weren't feeding they were gathering together in the tree tops close-by, before heading off to roost.

This male Chaffinch seemed to be happy to be photographed.

And there's why, he's showing off his Mohican haircut.

Was it something I said

Slugs and Snails Recorded:
White-lipped Banded Snail (Cepaea hortensis)

A White-lipped Banded Snail, though there aren't too many bands on this individual.

Local Video:

As one housing estate nears completion, so another begins. Groundwork is underway for 12 bungalows. And where I was stood videoing this digger, so another 34 houses are to be built.

Ted:

Looks like I failed today. Just three Ted's.
