Ferrybridge Sandflats

It was a day at the seaside, well the Fleet that is. As the tide was dropping Ted and I dropped in for a walk alongside the Fleet, up to visitors centre and then back to the now derelict Ferrybridge Inn.

There were quite a few waders about until a dog walker decided to walk right through the feeding flocks on the sandbanks, scattering them all over the place. They all came back down again and started feeding once more, but!!!!

A juvenile Ringed Plover

It looks like its found a snack.

Just the one Turnstone seen

Granted this chap has his dog on the lead. However he pays no attention to the fact that he and his dog are scattering the waders that are topping up with food before continuing their Autumn migration.

General Shots
:

Portland covered in cloud. If you ask Google what the weather forecast is for Portland she will say "it's foggy"

And looking beyond Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay, the clouds are pretty much covering the hill tops on the mainland.

Ted:

Ted wasn't too impressed about having his lead on for our walk. But at least we were out in the fresh air.
