As yesterday's walk was spoilt by the rain, I decided to re-walk it today. Though it wasn't raining it was pretty overcast and still quite mild.
If I have ID'd them correctly I managed to record two new flies for my Portland List. They were Yellow Bellied Flies (Sciara hemerobioides) and Spectacled Berry Fly (Anomoia purmunda)
I also came across a male Common Mourning Bee (Melecta albifrons). If memory serves me right, this is only the second one I have seen on Portland and this time a male on a Teasel.

I was trying to work out why this Honeysuckle flower was sticking out so far.
When I got up close, I could see that it had wound itself around a grass stem.
This is Red Bartsia (Odontites vernus). More on this plant Here.
Old Man’s Beard (Clematis vitalba). Also known as Travellers’ Joy and Wild Clematis.
I don't think Ted is a big fan of the meadow.
He would rather be running up and down the tracks or.....
........just watching me from a distance
