Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, Easton Railway Cuttings and Wakeham Railway Cuttings
Well I certainly didn't time that right, and what I thought would be a good walk between showers, turned out to be totally wrong. Everything was fine until Ted and I got to the Easton Railway Cuttings and then the heavens opened.
Highlights though were 5 Painted Lady's. Four were in the Meadow and one in the Easton Railway Cutting, a Small Blue, a Common Blue and 2 Red Admirals.

Under one of the boards along Old Quarry Lane were a family of 7 Slow-worms

My first Small Blue for quite sometime. This one was in the Easton Railway Cuttings and in a spot that is pretty good for them.
Bees Recorded:
Honey Bees (Apis mellifera)
Buff-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris)
Red-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius)
Common Carder (Bombus pascuorum)
A Honey Bee on an umbellifer. Not a plant I recall ever seeing them on. Behind it is a Yellow Bellied Fly.

I nearly had this down as a Brown-banded Carder Bee (Bombus humilis), however........

Hoverflies Recorded:
Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus)
Long Hoverfly (Sphaerophoria scripta)
Common Dronefly (Eristalis tenax)
There weren't too many hoverflies about, but I did come across this Common Dronefly
Yellow Bellied Fly (Sciara hemerobioides)
Parasitic Fly (Eriothrix rufomaculata)
This is a Yellow Bellied Fly and one of the Dark-winged fungus gnats
