Old Quarry Lane and Wakeham Meadow

Today I took Ted for a short walk around Old Quarry Lane and the meadows, just to let him have a run around and stretch his legs. This area also has a lot of shade, with several Sycamores giving some respite from the sun beating down. Top temperature on the garden thermometer was 25.4°C in the shade. Needless to say we didn't stay out long.

Main highlight was watching several Gatekeepers emerging and then flitting around the flowering brambles.

Ted
:

Spot the dog. Ted is in the dead centre of this photo

And my attempt at a bit of panning, as Ted went running by. The idea is that as long as you can keep up with the speed of the subject, you can use a slower shutter speed and keep the subject in focus. The alternative would have been a blurred photo had I not kept up with Ted. I wasn't too far off.
