Apley Wood and Pool, Telford, Shropshire
No Sightings today from Portland or Weymouth as today was a big day for my daughter Nikki as she was married in the Holy Trinity Church in Oakengates, Telford. It was an amazing day and one that I will remember for a long long time.
Just to relax and take it all in, Dawn and I had an early morning walk around one of my favourite pools and woodlands in Telford at Apley. Two birds I was hoping to see were Treecreeper and Nuthatch. But incredibly I didn't find any.
I have visited this area many times over the past 20 years or so and this is the first time I have drawn a blank on these two species. However I did manage to record my first Goldcrest of the year (I cant believe its taken almost 7 months to see one) and I also came across a Jay. The latter I have still to see on Portland.
