Wakeham
Another spell in the garden this afternoon and a new addition to my garden list with a Mullein Moth caterpillar.
Here are a few images and a video from today:
This Robin is a regular visitor to the back garden, with its puffed up feathers. I'm sure when it moults they will all be back in place.
Today we had........
.............three...........
............male Blue-tailed Damselflies. Still no sign of any females.
I'm pretty sure this the Sand Wasp, Ectemnius sexcinctus. A species I have seen in the garden and at Church Ope Cove on a few occasions.
This is a female Semaphore fly (Poecilobothrus nobilitatus)
And here we have a male on the right with the white wing tips and a female on the left.
The male here is displaying to the female and then.....
.............a first for me where the male jumps over the female a few times, before mating. Here is a bit more info on the Semaphore Fly on my previous Blog Swindon Birder Here.
And a first for the garden a caterpillar of a Mullein Moth. This individual was on the Gooseberry Bush.
And Ted of course who did have a good walk in the Radipole Gardens this morning.
