Wakeham

It was a busy day catching up on the work needed to get Star back in the water this Friday. I'm nearly there, with new anodes and fuel filters fitted, and all that is left are a few small jobs. If the engine starts okay on the launch, we've cracked it. Watch this space!!

So sadly no walk today, but just a quick sit down in the back garden to see what was about. So what was there, well there is now a second male Blue-tailed Damselfly and a male Azure Damselfly. Still no females of either species.

Around the pond there was a pair of Semaphore Flies, whilst on the Valerian there were Red-tailed Bumblebees and Early Bumblebees. A Meadow Brown visited the garden briefly

As I was coming indoors a small party of 7 Swifts were "screeching" overhead.

In my neighbours garden there is a wheelbarrow on its side, which is full of water. Its amazing how attractive that can be for a Robin in need of a wash.

And he seemed quite happy to sing about it as well.

Not only was he singing from the treetops but also on the neighbours shed. His breast has dried out, its just the back and perhaps..........

............a pedicure is needed.

And the Damselflies.........

...........this is the male Azure Damselfly.

And these two are........

.........male Blue-tailed Damselflies. One thing is for sure they seem to be enjoying the Lavender

Around the pond was this male Semaphore Fly............

...........and a female.

Ted, walk tomorrow I promise.
