Wakeham Wood, Wakeham Railway Cuttings, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Penns Weare, Penns Copse, Rufus Castle, Bumpers Lane and Mermaid Track.

An indifferent day. On the plus side it was sunny and I came across 2 Firecrest in Penns Wood and both Fieldfare and Redwing in Wakeham Wood. On the negative side, for the second day running there were no Black Redstarts at the cove and there was no sign of the Yellow-browed Warbler.

Here's a breakdown of today's sightings:

Wakeham Wood
: 3 Chiffchaff, 3 Goldcrest, 12+ Long-tailed Tit, 4 Greenfinch, 3 Redwing and 4 Fieldfare

Penns Wood: 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Firecrest, 3 Goldcrest, 5 Long-tailed Tit, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and 4 Redwing

Church Ope Cove: 11 Rock Pipits and 2 Pied Wagtail

Church Ope Cove wood: 2 Chiffchaff and 2 Goldcrest

No butterflies or bees today, just the German & Common Wasps, plus a Dark Bush-cricket.

Here are a few images from today:

Just the 2 Firecrests today, this one and another close-by in the Japonica in Penns Wood.

There are some good flocks of Long-tailed Tits at the moment. There are are at least 3 possibly 4 around Wakeham and Church Ope Cove. I'm guessing that when the cold weather really sets in they may form one group. We shall see!!

And they are so busy. When one flies off the others follow.
