A female Common Darter was by the steps leading down from the church grounds where there were also dozens of hoverflies on the flowering Ivy, with many Drone Flies, Dead Head Hoverflies and a at least 4 Hornet Mimic Hoverflies.

Here are few images from this morning:

A female Blackcap hidden away in the Buddleia.

Next second she was out in the open for a brief moment, before diving back into the bush.

Balaclava Bay, East Weares and Church Ope Cove

This afternoon we went out on Star and managed to catch a few Mackerel, a Red Gurnard plus 3 Cuttlefish. The latter not something I've caught before.

Out in Balaclava Bay a Hobby flew over us and headed off down East Weares. Also seen were Oystercatchers, Rock Pipits, 20+ Herring Gulls and 10 Great Black-Backed Gulls.

At least 4 Barrel Jellyfish passed us by and flying across the sea we counted 8 Painted Lady's, 5 Large Whites, 1 Clouded Yellow and several Hoverflies.
