Nothe Point, The Hood, Balaclava Bay, Church Ope Cove and Portland Harbour

Another day out in the boat and a fair bit of traveling up and down the coast from Nothe Point down to Church Ope Cove and then back to Portland Harbour.

Just 2 fish caught a Mackerel and a Coalfish. The Mackerel were really plentiful last week, but numbers have really dropped off this week.

A few birds about with Cormorant, Shag, 3 Oystercatcher, Black-headed Gull, Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull and 2 Rock Pipit seen.

It wasn't just birds seen but also Large White, Small White and a Red Admiral seen heading towards Portland from a North-easterly direction.

Just the one Barrel Jellyfish seen around The Hood.

Here are a few images from today.

Church Ope Cove with Rufus Castle towering above it.

Portland Bill with the main Lighthouse at the tip and Portland Bird Observatory, the white lighthouse on the right.

On the breakwater another "ringed" Great Black-backed Gull.

There were a few Oystercatchers about. This one was having a rest on the breakwater.
