Wakeham

Well the forecast was for rain, and that is exactly what we got in bucket loads for the most of the day. It did clear early evening, but it was far too wet underfoot.

And of course it rained because it's St Swithin's Day and as the legend goes - if it rains, it will rain for another 40 days. Great!!!

So as per norm...............

A Hummingbird Hawkmoth (Macroglossum stellatarum) along Wakeham Railway Cuttings

A Six-Spot Burnet moth (Zygaena filipendulae) in Wakeham Meadow.

A Common Toad in the back garden.

A male Chalkhill Blue at Church Ope Cove.

A female Common Darter along Old Quarry Lane

An European Paper Wasp (Polistes Dominula) in the back garden

A Ringlet at Church Ope Cove.
