Hamm Beach and Portland Harbour
A very late afternoon walk along Hamm Beach. The conditions were pretty good for looking across the harbour for grebes and divers. Only problem was, it looked very much like they were all off Sandsfoot Castle Beach.
So it was case of seeing what was close in and the best I could do were a handful of Cormorants fishing just outside the entrance to Portland Marina, around 5 Red-breasted Mergansers in the harbour and a pair of Stonechats at Hamm Beach feeding alongside a Pied Wagtail.
Birds Recorded:
Cormorant
Shag
5 Red-breasted Merganser
Kestrel
Herring Gull
Great Black-backed Gulls
1 Meadow Pipit
1 Pied Wagtail
2 Stonechat
Magpie
Carrion Crow
