A mixture of sunshine and showers today, and some hefty showers at that. The sun did eventually come out, but too late for a decent walk. So it was a day in the garden, well in between the showers that is.
Two excellent highlights, the first was a Common Whitethroat, which I had heard but hadn't realised was by the pond. The second was in the pond itself and was Toad spawn. This is the first time I have seen toad spawn in the pond.
Sadly we had to say goodbye to our four Khaki Campbell Ducks, Huey, Louisa, Aubrey and Sneezy. It has been great fun seeing them grow from ducklings into adults and near adults, but if you have ever kept ducks in a small enclosure with a pond, you will know why we decided to give them away.
The good news is they have gone to Fancy's Farm on Portland and have the biggest playground they could ever wish for. It also means we can go and see them anytime we want.
So the bath I acquired for them, to swim in, is now going to be another pond in the back garden. This should be fun with lots of digging to be done.
Here are a few images and a video from today:

And the next venture, the second pond for the garden.
