Wakeham

Another back garden safari this afternoon and a great start with 2 Painted Lady's on the Valerian and Clematis. A few bees about with Honey Bees, Red-tailed Bumblebee and Common Carder.

Overhead a few "screaming" Swifts.

Here are a few images from this afternoon.

A Painted Lady on the Valerian

And another "Lady" on the Clematis.

I'm not 100% sure which species of pug moth this is. Possibly a Grey Pug, Eupithecia subfuscata

Honey Bee

Common Carder

If I've got this right this is a Sand Wasp - Ectemnius sexcinctus

One of the Syrphus hoverflies.

This is an Eupeodes luniger and a very common hoverfly along the south coast.

And here it is in flight.

Possibly one of the Ichneumon wasps, but as to which one I have no idea.

A male Swollen-thighed Beetle and...............

...........this is the female minus the swollen thighs.
