For a change I took the Broadcroft Quarry lane route and I'm so glad I did as I came across a mixed flock of 38 Fieldfare, 15 Redwing and 1 Starling, in the horse fields on the left and then in the Sycamore trees to the left of Bumpers Lane. Following the winter thrushes were several Chaffinches.
Also about were 8 Meadow Pipits in the gorse bushes and large flock of gulls in the paddocks behind Moorfield Road.
A few winter thrushes about.....
...........with lots of Fieldfares and Redwings in flight.
Fieldfare
And many more sat in a Sycamore along with 2 Starlings and a Chaffinch.
A Redwing hidden away.
It wasn't just the winter thrushes here this afternoon but a few Meadow Pipits as well.......
Here's another Meadow Pipit on top of a Gorse Bush.
A short video of a few of the Fieldfares, Redwings, Starlings and a Chaffinch here on Portland.

Another busy day on the feeders with Great Tits, Blue Tits, Goldfinches, Chaffinches and Robins all visiting. On the Cherry Tree 2 Robins were getting a bit close. A pair maybe. Whilst in all the neighbouring gardens all you could hear was the chattering of House Sparrows.
A female Chaffinch on the sunflower seed feeder.
A lone Robin.......
....or maybe not. Who is that hiding behind the branch.....
.....a second Robin. This is the closest these two have been all winter. A pair maybe!!
The male House Sparrows are very vocal and taking up key positions in the neighbourhood.
At long last some fine weather and good to see that the feeders are in constant use. Here we have a female Chaffinch on the sunflower seed feeder and a Great Tit on the Suet Pellets.
