The best highlight today was my first ever Siberian Chiffchaff in and around the grounds of St Andrew Church this afternoon. A very pale bird with an almost white throat. At first I was thinking Whitethroat, but definitely a Chiffchaff.
There was no way I was going to be able to photograph it, as it was in the company other Chiffchaffs, dozens of Long-tailed Tits, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Goldcrests and a Firecrest foraging in the trees and bushes here.
The best I can do is show you an individual which is a perfect example of what I saw. Click Here.

Other highlights were a Firecrest in Broadcroft Quarry Lane
Also about a Drone Fly (Eristalis tenax) & a Red Admiral in the back garden, and 2 Common Carder Bumblebees (Bombus pascuorum) on a Hebe in Church Ope Cove.
Here a few images from today:

This Common Drone Fly was making the most a very brief ray of sunshine.
This Hebe is proving to be a hit with the local Common Carder Bumblebees.
This Sea Fury was giving Wakeham a bit of a buzz this morning. More on this aircraft Here
