It's an effort but Dawn and I are making good progress with tidying up the garden and sorting out the sheds, before my next open heart surgery. No dates yet, but most likely to be the end of next month.

So during our breaks, I managed to have a look around the garden for some "beasties" and came across a new sawfly for my Port & Wey list.

Sawflies Recorded:
Greater Hawthorn Borer (Hoplocampa crataegi)

I'm pretty sure this is a Greater Hawthorn Borer (Hoplocampa crataegi).

.............This sawfly is associated with hawthorns and I have 3 Hawthorns growing in the garden. It's also known as the Hawthorn Fruit Sawfly.

Hoverflies Recorded:
2 Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus)
3 Narcissus Bulb Fly (Merodon equestris)
1 Spring Epistrophe (Epistrophe eligans)

1 Spotted Thintail (Meliscaeva auricollis)
