Barleycrates Lane, West Cliff and Reap Lane Barn

It was another trip to Barleycrates and Reap Lane Barn to see what was coming up the island. My previous visit here produced 100+ Meadow Pipits, todays figures were certainly double that, with large and small parties heading northwards. Accompanying them were small flocks of Goldfinches, totalling around 30+.

Other migrants noted were several Pied Wagtails and two Chiffchaffs. Missing from my list today were Stonechats and Wheatears, plus hirundines.

Despite that very cold easterly a Peacock butterfly was flying about in the relatively calmer conditions along the West Cliffs.
