After my walk in that freezing north-easterly I headed off to the Portland Bird Observatory, to see if anything of note had been seen this morning. Apparently both Common Scoter and Velvet Scoter had passed through, along with several Red-throated Divers. I'm going to have to get up earlier in the morning to see them!
The only birds of note at the Obs when I arrived were a few small parties of Meadow Pipits passing through, plus a female Sparrowhawk sat in the bushes next to one of the feeders in the Obs garden.
