Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadows, Lower Horse Paddock, Higher Horse Paddock, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Silklake Quarry, Bumpers Lane, Wakeham Railway Cuttings (east), Wakeham Railway Cuttings and Wakeham.

Being the weekend I chose to have a walk around my local patch. Sadly there wasn't much about and the only Spring Migrant I could find was a Chiffchaff in Wakeham Meadow.

Only other highlight was an Early Bumblebee (Bombus pratorum), my first this year.

My first Early Bumblebee (Bombus pratorum) of the year on the flowers of a Wild Cherry (Prunus avium)


Ants Recorded:
"Red" Ants sp.

Under one of the corrugated metal sheets where I often find Slow-worms in the Summer was this ants nest.

I assume they are "red" ants, but I'm not sure which species.

Bumpers Lane and in the centre of the frame there used to be a massive rocky outcrop, which the digger from a few days back has dug out.

In fact Bumpers Lane is wider now as they have produced a new bund on the right and made the bund on the left higher.
