Old Quarry Lane and Wakeham Meadows

Well that was pretty confusing. Literally a few minutes before I left the cottage for a walk, it had been wall to wall blue skies for a good couple of hours. However as I closed the front door behind me, all I could see was thick fog swirling around the houses.

The forecast was for rain at 5:00pm, but instead it arrived at 4:15pm, hence the quick walk across the road and back. But as I write the sun is now streaming through the front window at 5:15pm. Don't you just love the British weather!!

Despite the short walk it was actually pretty good, with 4 species of warbler noted, a pair of Swifts heading north and my first Common Carder Bee of the year.
