Ferrybridge Sandflats

On the way back from a shopping trip into Weymouth I stopped off at Ferrybridge, to see what was about:

There were several pairs of Little Terns close in to the embankment, but when the Little Terns,on their Chesil Beach nest site, were disturbed, a good 60+ birds took off. I couldn't see what had put them up, but a few minutes later they had all returned to their nests.

Other birds of interest were 3 Whimbrel which initially landed on one of the sandbank islands, but took off immediately, as I suspect they somehow knew that the tide was coming in.

Birds Recorded:
Oystercatcher
3 Whimbrel
Black-headed Gull
Mediterranean Gull
Herring Gull
Great Black-backed Gull
70+ Little Tern
