Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadows, Lower Horse Paddock, Higher Horse Paddock, Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve, Broadcroft Quarry Lane and Bumpers Lane.

It was an early morning walk around my local patch, with the main highlight being a Garden Warbler feeding in amongst the Sycamore leaves on the "Bump" in the Butterfly Reserve.

Other highlights were:
House Martin: Two over the butterfly reserve
Swallow: Two over Wakeham Meadows and four over the butterfly reserve
Common Whitethroat: One in Wakeham Meadows and three on the butterfly reserve
Lesser Whitethroat: One in Bumpers Lane
Blackcap: One in Wakeham Meadows
Chiffchaff: One along Old Quarry Lane

I also came across my first ever a Buff Long-horn moth (Nematopogon metaxella) on the butterfly reserve.

Weston Street Horse Paddock

After my morning walk I visited the horse paddock along Weston Street Here, in search of the male Ring Ouzel sighted there for the past few days. I ended up walking all around the paddock, only to come across it from where I had started. It could happen to me!!

It did eventually drop down into the paddock..........

Butterflies Recorded:
8 Speckled Wood

The only butterflies seen today were Speckled Woods with this trio getting to know each other on the butterfly reserve.


Moths Recorded:
Buff Long-horn (Nematopogon metaxella)

And my first ever Buff Long-horn moth which I came across on the "Bump"

Bees Recorded:
Honey Bees (Apis mellifera)
Buff-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris)
Red-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius)


Bugs and Beetles Recorded:
7-spot Ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata)
Common Green Shieldbug (Palomena prasina)
