Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadows, Lower Horse Paddock, Higher Horse Paddock, Broadcroft Butterfly Reserve, Broadcroft Quarry Lane, Bumpers Lane Quarry and Bumpers Lane

With the forecast of rain by 10:30am, it was a quick cuppa of coffee and out of the cottage by 8:30am. The first thing I noted was how cold it was, especially in that north-easterly wind which was gusting at around 40mph. Not nice at all.

Despite the wind there were a few migrants about with most in Bumpers Lane Quarry where it was pretty well sheltered. In the quarry were singles of Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap and Chiffchaff all singing.

Elsewhere there were 2 Common Whitethroats and a Lesser Whitethroat in the butterfly reserve.
