It was a day of rain, rain and more rain and this despite the weather forecast of the rain clearing by midday and supposedly leaving a cloudy and foggy day.
So there was no walk, just a drive to the groom room for Benji and Ted, and then a drive around Weymouth for a new wheelbarrow and some smokeless coal.
The only birds of note on my journey were several waders running up and down the shoreline at Ferrybridge, presumably Dunlin and Ringed Plover, and a bit further north by the Weymouth Park & Ride, a Green Woodpecker was heard "yaffling".
As always I also try to find something of interest for this day from yesteryear. So on this day in 2020 I came across my first Trimmer's Mining Bee (Andrena trimmerana) close to Church Ope Cove.
