Another very cold day, with the daytime temperature hovering around 0°C. Very little seen apart from an influx of 15 Meadow Pipits in the Lower Horse paddock. Also here was the male Stonechat, 2 Pied Wagtails, a Song Thrush, several House Sparrows and 2 Starlings.
Elsewhere the woods, beach and church grounds were all eerily quiet. Out to sea though I managed to see my first Kittiwakes of the year, with two well out to sea along with Common Gulls, Herring Gulls, Great Black-backed Gulls and a lone Gannet fishing.
Here are a few images and videos from today:
One of the 15 Meadow Pipits in the Lower Horse paddock this afternoon.
A very quiet Church Ope Cove. Too cold for the Kelp Flies and unfortunately that meant no Rock Pipits, Wagtails or Wrens.
A lone Gannet way out to sea.
Not brilliant I know, but here it is diving for a fish in slow motion
The top of the Cuttings looking towards Rufus Castle and Ted in the centre of the photo.
He never stops running and as I write up my notes he's fast asleep on the settee.
