Old Quarry Lane and Wakeham Meadows

With heavy rain forecast for this afternoon and into the evening, I took Ted for a walk around my local patch before it arrived. And despite the clouds building up all around us, the sun did actually appear for a short period and with it a few "white" butterflies.

Those veins are very striking on this Green-veined White Pieris napi

And a Speckled Wood Pararge aegeria taking shelter before the rain arrives.

Having seen many Rush Veneers Nomophila noctuella.........................

..................a few months ago and then they all disappeared.............
