Old Quarry Lane and Wakeham Meadow 

Highlights again in the meadow were the two female Wasp Spiders, which were a bit harder to photograph as they had both moved their webs to slightly different positions.

It has been a great Summer for Rush Veneers Nomophila noctuella with many seen daily now for a good couple of months.

A Glass-winged Syrphus Syrphus vitripennis and another...........

.........one on Common Ragwort Jacobaea vulgaris. This hoverfly also goes by the name of Lesser Banded Hoverfly and Black-thighed Flower Fly

Also on the Common Ragwort was this Marmalade Hoverfly Episyrphus balteatus

A female Long Hoverfly Sphaerophoria scripta

Pied Hoverfly Scaeva pyrastri

Dead Head Hoverfly Myathropa florea
