Wakeham

After a very long day in Southampton General Hospital, followed by an even longer journey home (4hrs and not 95 min due to an accident), I finally managed an hour in the back garden to wind down.

The hospital appointment was interesting, in that the leaking aortic valve is causing back pressure, which in turn has now caused another heart valve to leak. The good news is, the "new" leaking valve will heal on its own but only when I finally have a new aortic valve fitted Which I hope will be very soon.

Being back so late meant there really wasn't much to see in the back garden, other than a handful of Buff-tailed Bumblebees, Honey Bees and 3 Common Carder Bees. Interestingly enough there were no Red-tailed Bumblebees to be seen, but then it was gone 6pm.

Here are a few photos from the garden this evening.

On the right a Honey Bee Apis mellifera and hiding on the left...........

.......a German Wasp Vespula germanica.

A Common Dronefly Eristalis tenax

A Thick-legged hoverfly Syritta pipiens

And where the sheds once stood is now clear and where.........

...........today is soon to be covered in type 1 sub-base, compacted and then concreted hopefully tomorrow. Watch this space!!
