Day 5.

Puig de Sant Marti

It was a tough walk to the summit which is 817 feet above sea level, especially as the climb to the top was around 3 miles of twisting and often steep rough track.

This very orange Southern Speckled Wood is the sub-species Pararge aegeria aegeria. These here are other forms of Speckled Woods.

.........our Hotel as we head off to the top of Puig de Sant Martí. Incidentally Puig de Sant Martí translated in English is Mount St. Martin or Hill of St. Martin.

As we walked on up, we had good views of...........

...........s'Albufera National Park.

Still climbing.

But at the top we had fantastic views of.......

.................Port de Pollença to the north.

Platja de Muro

Before our walk up Puig de Sant Marti, Dawn and I had a morning stroll along the shopping mall in Platja de Muro. There was one location where there was a bit of wasteland, waiting to be built on. In this little oasis there was a Sardinian Warbler, butterflies, damselflies, butterflies and beetles etc.

Downtown Platja de Muro and in this spot here............

..........is a little oasis.

A Painted Lady on the flowers of Lantana (Lantana camara)

Also on the Lantana was this Small White

Blue-tailed Damselfly (Ischnura elegans) form violacea

Swollen-thighed Beetle (Oedemera nobilis)

Hotel Grounds:

Early morning and a Balearic Spotted Flycatcher was already up and catching insects in the hotel grounds.
