News was out that there, that there were 2 Ring Ouzels seen at High Angle Battery this morning. But as per normal when I got there they had departed. However there was still plenty to see there with one of the neighbouring fields here, full of Spring migrants with 2 Whinchat, 1 female Black Redstart and 7 Wheatear. Whilst I was there a Common Whitethroat burst into song from the Blackthorns behind me.
From the "Battery" I headed towards the Verne, which was a great decision as a Ring Ouzel had been seen there as well in the moat here. And yep it was still there when I arrived after a mammoth climb to the top of the moat. I'm not as fit I used to be, but I had great views of it as it flew back and forward in the moat, and up onto the cotoneasters on the far embankment.
Arrowed is the location of the Ring Ouzel.
