One of many Little Egrets at Lodmoor today.

And a very elegant looking Grey Heron.

On the left a Black-tailed Godwit and a Whimbrel on the right. Both first for the year.

Just behind the Little Egret a record shot of a Wood Sandpiper.......

.......My first since moving to Portland. I have added a soundtrack of its song courtesy of xeno-canto.

My first Common Sandpiper of the year, as..........

.............was this Common Tern.

There's nothing like a good wash, followed by a spot of preening. This Robin was really going for it.

An interesting song with Reed Warbler, Blackcap and Song Thrush in the mix. Could it be a Marsh Warbler, or just a Blackcap with an unusual song. My last Marsh Warbler here was on 23 Jun 19, though I have seen one in France, which had an interesting repertoire of Song Thrush, Swallow and Skylark. This Marsh Warbler/Blackcap was singing at this location here
