An early start today, as I headed off to Essex for my Father's 90th Birthday Party this afternoon. En route I stopped off at Lodmoor before my onward journey. I arrived around 7:15am and stayed for around 45 minutes before heading off. Main highlight was the Lesser Yellowlegs still here and looking every part a permanent fixture to the reserve. How many months has it resided here now.
Here are a few images of the Lesser Yellowlegs.
Birds Recorded: Little Grebe, Cormorant, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, Canada Goose, Shelduck, Mallard, Gadwall, Teal, Water Rail, Moorhen, Coot, Oystercatcher, Snipe, Black-tailed Godwit, Lesser Yellowlegs, Black-headed Gull, Mediterranean Gull, Herring Gull, Wood Pigeon, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Cetti's Warbler, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Starling, Chaffinch, Linnet, Goldfinch, Greenfinch and Reed Bunting.
En Route from Dorset to Essex
Always great to add new birds to your year list and 11 Red Kites was more than I expected. The closest I encountered were 2 birds over the River Stour Here, with the majority of them over the M25 just north of the junction to the M40.
