Church Ope Cove
Before our trip into Weymouth for the Seafood Festival, Dawn and I took the pooches for a walk to Rufus Castle, Church Ope Cove, St Andrews Church and then back to Polly's Cottage.

Not a lot of birds about but a pair of vocal Ravens made their presence known as we made our way down to Rufus Castle

Still lots of Marbled White butterflies about and also now Gatekeepers. Other butterflies seen were Large Skippers, Ringlets, Large Whites and Meadow Browns.

There were a few Six-spot Burnet moths about, a Common Nettle-tap (Anthophila fabriciana) and a Mint Moth (Pyrausta aurata)

Also seen was a strange mauve coloured wasp, which could be either a Gasteruption assectator or Gasteruption minutum which is very similar. There were also several Common Red Soldier Beetles and 2 Common Lizards.

In the conservatory this morning a Idaea biselata, Small Fan-footed Wave. Also about the male Blackcap singing from across Bumpers Lane.

Note: Thank you to my friend Steve Covey for identifying the Small Fan-footed Wave.
