It was a day of dodging the showers, though when they did pass it was pleasantly warm. A walk with the dogs was well timed and our usual walk again down to Pennsylvania Castle, St Andrews Church, Rufus Castle and back home.
Very few butterflies about, just 1 Large White and 1 Small White seen. A few hoverflies though with Hornet Mimic, Marmalade and one other to ID.

On the outside of the conservatory this morning a tortrix sp. to identify.
Seen from the back garden a Buzzard being mobbed by 2 Herring Gulls. Also about 2 Swallows.

Ferrybridge
As we passed the Fleet there were dozens of Mediterranean Gulls, a Great Black-backed Gull and 2 Oystercatchers on the waters edge.
Radipole Reserve
A look across the reserve from the retail park late morning and there were dozens of House Martins, Swallows and Swifts flying low across the reed beds, as the rain came lashing down.
