This afternoon, Dawn and I did a spot of sea fishing between the Pulpit Rock and Trinity House Obelisk. No fish, though I did have a bite which I missed as I was having drink. It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and temperatures in the high twenty's. Quite a few Guillemots out to to sea. As the tide was coming in, they were sitting on the "races" and diving down for food, when they had enough, they flew back to their nests on the West Cliffs. Also about were Rock Pipit, a Shag and 2 Cormorants.

A quick walk around Church Ope Cove and a lot of butterflies out today with Marbled Whites, Meadow Browns, Ringlets, a Large White, a Small Skipper and a Gatekeeper. Also 3 Six-spot Burnet Moths.
Other insects about were a Hornet Mimic Hoverfly (Volucella zonaria) in the grounds of St Andrews Church and a Rose Chafer (Cetonia aurata) on the steps by Rufus Castle.
