Bumpers Lane, Rufus Castle, Church Ope Cove and Pennsylvania Castle wood.

The fine weather from this morning extended well into the afternoon and so it was off down to Church Ope Cove via Bumpers Lane. Sadly not a lot about and the only real highlights were 2 Meadow Pipits heading north, 5 Song Thrushes dotted about and a Gannet far out to sea. At Rufus Castle and St Andrew's Church a Common Drone Fly at each location.

In the middle of the frame a Kestrel peers up from the undergrowth having just caught something.

Birds Recorded: 1 Gannet, Kestrel, Herring Gull, Wood Pigeon, 2 Meadow Pipit, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, 5 Song Thrush, 1 Goldcrest, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, House Sparrow, Chaffinch, 2 Linnet and Goldfinch.

Also seen 2 Common Drone Flies and a White-tailed Bumblebee.

Wakeham

Another glorious start to the day. Birds visiting the feeders this morning were 2 Great Tits, 2 Goldfinches and singles of Blue Tit and Dunnock.

As I left the cottage this afternoon 2 helicopters were flying about over Portland. This Boeing Chinook HC4 ZH777 from RAF Bensons 28 Squadron.........
