Wakeham

Well the idea today was to nip into town to get some supplies for the garden and then carrying on where I left off yesterday. Unfortunately a car fire on the Portland Beach Road, meant I was stuck in an ever increasing traffic jam for a good hour before I could get home.

As it was getting quite warm, I decided to have an afternoon looking at the wildlife in and around the garden.


Birds Recorded:
1 Buzzard
Herring Gull
Wood Pigeon
Collared Dove
2 House Martin

Magpie
Carrion Crow
Jackdaw
Starling
House Sparrow
Goldfinch


Dragonflies and Damselflies Recorded:
2 Azure Damselfly

There was a male Azure Damselfly around the "Bath" pond again, plus this................

..........female near to the "Tractor Tyre" Pond.


Bees Recorded
:
1 Common Carder Bumblebee (Bombus pascuorum)

As per yesterday a single Common Carder Bumblebee on the Purple Loosestrife.


Hoverflies Recorded
:
8 Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus)

Below are a few Marmalade Hoverfly photos. There were at least 8 around the Cherry Tree, either hovering, landing on the Cherry tree leaves or on the back of my hand.
