Portland Castle Beach, Portland Harbour and Portland Marina

Despite the miserable weather again, I decided that enough was enough and took Ted and Theo for a walk along the esplanade, between Portland Castle and the marina.

Highlights out in the harbour were a Black-throated Diver, 3 Great Northern Divers and 12 Red-breasted Mergansers.

Other birds of note were an Oystercatcher on the outflow pipe and a fly-by Black Redstart which was heading towards the castle.

Birds Recorded:
1 Black-throated Diver
3 Great Northern Diver
Cormorant
Shag
12 Red-breasted Merganser
1 Oystercatcher

A passer by has just thrown a few slices of bread into the water. And the Herring Gulls were quickly onto them.
