RSPB Radipole Lake

After a quick shopping trip to Weymouth I parked up in Goldcroft Avenue here, with the idea of having a walk to the North Hide. Having crossed the busy A354 Weymouth Way I set off along the track only to discover it was under 2 foot of water. So it was a change of plan and I headed off in the opposite direction towards the Buddleia Loop. And yep the path here was under water as well.

The only walk possible, unless you were wearing waders was between the red lines marked above.

So the walk ended up being between the two blocked paths; which actually turned out pretty well, with a flock of 11 Long-tailed Tits "dragging" along 2 Goldcrests, a Firecrest, 5 Great Tit and 3 Blue Tits.

Sometimes you don't have to walk far, as eventually the birds will to come to you. Well some of the time!

General Shots and Ted:

The path to the North Hide is........

............now a tributary of the River Wey

And it was the same at the start of the Buddleia Loop.

Yep the River Wey is very high Ted.
