Portland Castle Beach and Portland Marina

This was a very quick walk to introduce Theodore to Ted, plus an opportunity to see what was out in Portland Harbour.

The wind was so strong that the only birds seen, other than 3 Red-breasted Merganser in the harbour, were lots of gulls, Cormorants and Shags all sat on the boulders surrounding Portland Marina.

Birds Recorded:
Cormorant
Shag
3 Red-breasted Merganser
Herring Gull
Great Black-backed Gull
1 Pied Wagtail
Magpie
Carrion Crow

A mixture of mainly Cormorants, Shags, Herring Gulls and Great Black-backed Gull on the boulders.

In this photo there are 3 Red-breasted Mergansers on the water, and a Cormorant in flight with a few Herring Gulls.

A bit closer to the esplanade were these two Herring Gulls

General Shots:
I said the wind was strong.

Dawn, Ted and Theodore:

The new addition to the family is Theodore the Cocker Spaniel. This is going to be fun.

Ships Today:
This is the Maltese Chemical/Oil Products Ship "Baltic Freedom" moored up in Portland Harbour. More on this vessel here.
