Old Quarry Lane, Wakeham Meadow, The Windmills, Wakeham Railway Cuttings, Penns Wood, St Andrew's Church, Church Ope Cove, Church Ope Cove Wood, Penn's Weare, Penn's Copse, Rufus Castle and Bumpers Lane

It was a late afternoon walk today, but there was still plenty to see, including a lone Swallow heading south of Penn's Weare.

With the gale force easterlies we had the other day, I wasn't surprised to see a mass of seaweed washed up onto the beach.

With the high winds and surf these two blocks of concrete have now been exposed. I have no idea what they were used for, but I will find out. One day!!

And I don't recall ever seeing this outcrop on the cliffs at Southwell either. Looks a bit precarious!!

Ships Today:

This is the Liberian Oil/Chemical Tanker "Chem Silicon" on its way from Rotterdam to New York. 

A bit of an odd course though from Rotterdam. It was heading for Portland Harbour, then turned and headed down Portland's east coast. More on this vessel Here.
